Social Security checks or direct payments for December may not have been sent to retirees in the US yet. Those born between December 1 and December 10 will get paid on December 11. Of course, you had to file and get approval after April 30, 1997. Extra Help from the Government (Supplemental Security Income) recipients will not be able to receive this check on November 11.
The amount will depend on how much money you make. The average retirement payout for December is shown here, so $1,927 is just one choice. If you don’t make a lot of money, you won’t get the full $4,873 benefit payment.
Social Security payment of $1,927 in one week
If you did not receive your payment on December 3 and do not meet the requirements for the check or direct transfer on December 11, you have two additional options. The closest in time will be released on December 18.
The Administration has certified the December 18 Social Security payout if your birthday falls between November 11 and December 20. Those retirees who qualified began receiving benefits after April 30, 1997. They are also ineligible for SSI.
Similarly, some retirees will receive their Social Security checks or deposits on December 24, rather than Wednesday, December 25. This is because the 25th is a federal holiday. Payments must be made in advance.
Requirements for Social Security in December 2024 or January 2025

Workers can wait to quit until they are 70 if they want a bigger bonus when they do. Their monthly payments are going to go up by almost 24%. Since you worked in jobs covered by the SSA for 35 years and made the most that is taxed, you can get up to $5,108 in 2025, up from $4,873 in 2024.
